RideI was really happy with the shot on the left, taken at the Rose Festival over the weekend. Its near mirror clone turned up in Digital Photography School today.

HaystackI think I like some of the detail I left in mine a little better, and I’ve found myself taking that approach more often than not. I like having the people in well-defined silhouette with some detail surviving in the environment … it tickles my brain a little more and maybe says something about the way the people are transient features of the landscape. Same as I hoped to do with the shot on the right, though I’m not sure what it does to my assertion about the transience of the people when the haystack rock is fading away on the horizon.

Maybe it’s a desperate artistic cry to get all those birds to stop their pooping. :-)
