Reading metatalk considered harmful:

This sort of, uh, “thinking” probably makes a great deal of sense to the sort of people who remember The September That Never Ended with the crabbed pride of never having anything else to get all worked up about. (See also: emoticon haters) (Sorry, Burton … it’s not 1992 anymore … join the future.)

Anyhow … I think everyone everywhere at all times is living in someone else’s September That Never Ended. I wonder how many of the First 500 on MeFi were pimply nuisances to the bitter graybeards on Usenet.
